PPA’s Version of the PEA’s “Road to Perdition”

(As of September 2005)

The brand new port as of September 2005.
The site was acquired at much expense, prompting some observations that the land was more expensive than the whole project cost.  In most projects, land is reclaimed from the sea, but here, expensive land has been converted back as part of the sea.  Is this another engineering marvel?

Notice the position of the “Road to Perdition” right smack in the center of the complex. After all, the former head of Engineering for PPA who was not an engineer, claimed that the road would last years.  What he failed to mention was that the road would be meters under muck dredged out of expensive land to bring the sea inland.  The Road will be preserved for all eternity as a monument to the architects of the “Road to Perdition”.

The press release sent in by one Robert Uy from the PPA GM’s office would serve as an appropriate plaque for such a memorial to the PPA’s version of “The Road to Perdition”.

The first one was built by the Public Estates Authority (PEA)  under the chairmanship of Ernest Villareal.  Alfonso Cusi and Ernest Villareal are loyal henchmen of Endika Aboitiz.
