Gov’t gives go signal for 2 operators at NH

     The Macapagal-Arroyo administration has finally decided to bid the modernization and operations of the North Harbor (NH) to two private port operators. 

     NH is the premier seaport in the country handling seven of every 10 tons of goods shipped across the islands.  Earlier, Transportation and Communications Secretary Pantaleon Alvarez has ordered the review of the modernization policy of the NH.

Major breakthrough reached on NH modernization

     The Arroyo administration has finally decided to bid out the modernization and operations of the North Harbor in Manila to at least two private port operators.

     The decision was relayed last month to the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) following a series of dialogue between the government and business organizations on how best to coax the economy into faster and sustained growth.
