AMO'NG MGA REKLAMO
The first complaint received by this site comes from Mrs. Eva P. Mumar - Retiree from the Bureau of Equipment, Cebu City. She alleges the following facts as basis for her complaint about the poor service that she is receiving from the GSIS. In this age of the Internet and computers, it is unthinkable that a large and cash-rich government-run institution does not have the capability for posting transactions in real time. The GSIS web site boasts of a host of online services for its members, including 24/7 online inquiries about their "Membership Information, Premium Payments, Loans or Tentative Computation. Of what use are these amenities if transactions from as far back as five months are not yet posted to the "main frame". Is this an admission that the GSIS system is still using technology that is over ten years old? Now a days, we talk of online servers, wide area networks (WAN), real time processing and not of stand alone main frames with batch processing of transactions. How much has been spent by the GSIS to acquire modern computing technology? |
